Meet Your Therapist

Hi! I’m Mariliam, a bilingual (English/Spanish) speech-language pathologist with over 13 years of experience supporting children and families on their communication journey. I founded Way to Grow Therapy to provide personalized, family-centered speech therapy that feels supportive, meaningful, and fun for both children and caregivers.

I believe children learn best through play, connection, and everyday experiences. My approach focuses on helping children build communication skills that carry over naturally into daily life at home, school, daycare, and in the community while empowering families along the way.

I specialize in early intervention, speech delays, language development, speech sound disorders, social communication, and AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication). Therapy sessions are individualized, play-based, and grounded in evidence-based practices that support real-life communication and meaningful interactions.

I earned my Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Carlos Albizu University in Puerto Rico, am licensed in Florida, and hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

Free Consultations

Contact us today for a free 15 minute phone-consultation to learn more about your child and determine if a speech therapy evaluation is the next step.

Comprehensive Evaluations

A comprehensive evaluation is a full assessment of your child’s communication skills. It helps identify strengths, challenges, and whether therapy is needed. The results guide us in creating a personalized plan of care.

Speech Sound Disorders

You may notice that your child’s speech is difficult for others to understand or that they have trouble pronouncing certain sounds

or words clearly.

Early Intervention

If you have concerns about your child’s communication, early support can make a big difference. Early Intervention speech therapy helps infants and toddlers build speech, language, play, and social communication skills through fun, everyday interactions and play-based activities while supporting families along the way.  Way to Grow is an approved provider contracted with  Early Steps Northeastern Florida.

Parent Coaching

Have questions or concerns about your child’s speech and language development? Parent coaching provides guidance, education, and practical strategies to help you support your child’s communication skills during everyday routines and activities at home. Together, we’ll discuss developmental milestones, answer your questions, and explore simple ways to encourage language, play, and social communication throughout the day.

AAC

Your child may benefit from AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) tools, such as picture boards or speech devices like an iPad, to help them communicate their wants, needs, thoughts, and feelings more easily. AAC can support children with speech delays, limited verbal speech, or difficulty expressing themselves and can help improve communication at home, school, and in everyday activities.

Receptive/Expressive Language Delays

Your child may have difficulty understanding and using language in everyday situations. This can include trouble following directions, answering questions, learning new vocabulary, expressing thoughts and ideas, speaking in complete sentences, telling stories, or using age-appropriate grammar and communication skills.

Social Communication

You may notice that your child has difficulty interacting with others, taking turns during play, understanding social cues, managing emotions, or participating in conversations with family members, peers, or teachers. Speech therapy can help support social communication and everyday interaction skills.
